FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS SCULPTRA AN EFFECTIVE FACIAL TREATMENT?
Sculptra is a dermal injectable that gradually replaces missing collagen. Collagen is typically lost as we age. Fine lines, wrinkles, hollow spots, and bony regions on the face can all be lessened with the replacement of missing collagen. Sculptra is frequently used to treat hollow temples, marionette lines, smile lines, and chin wrinkles. It is constructed from poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic material that is biocompatible. Additionally, it has received FDA approval in the US and enjoys widespread trust in 20 additional countries, including Canada and Europe.
WHY HAVE A SCULPTRA FACELIFT?
Unlike conventional fillers - which are used exclusively to fill specific areas of the face - Sculptra treatments address deep fat and bone volume loss throughout the whole face. The primary signs of aging are evidenced by a large loss of facial volume. Just like skin, face structures also fall as we age, leaving us more hollow and wrinkled. The true indication of the passage of time. Sculptra is usually injected deep into the temples, chin, medial cheeks, and nasolabial folds, and superficially into the lateral cheeks and jaw area. It can create significant improvements in these areas with results that last up to two years.
WHICH IS BETTER: SCULPTRA OR JUVEDERM?
Sculptra is a collagen stimulator rather than just a filler like Juvederm. Results with Sculptra require several sessions and a few weeks to manifest. The results of utilizing Sculptra are elegant, gradual and natural. Juvederm is a hyaluronic gel that provides instant results. Although both products are of high quality, it really comes down to the appearance you want to accomplish. Both will help to improve the appearance of shallow, aged skin. You should probably talk to your doctor about Juvederm if you're looking for a "fast fix." If you want something that will last longer and look more subtle and natural, you might want to consider Sculptra.
IS SCULPTRA EXPENSIVE?
A lot of factors influence the total cost of your Sculptra treatment, including the number of sessions required, the amount of solution vials required per session, and your cosmetic goals. Given that treatment costs vary from patient to patient, it is best to talk with us about pricing options when you come in for your initial consultation. As a reference, StudioMD's current rates start at roughly $850 per vial.
WHAT TO ANTICIPATE AFTER THE INJECTIONS?
You will be able to resume your regular daily activities immediately after your Sculptra treatment. Following the injections, you must massage the treated area multiple times each day for a few days. We also encourage you to ice the affected region. If desired, you can apply makeup over the treated area. But you shouldn't get a facial during the next two weeks. Your appearance will return to normal after a few days. This is expected given that it takes a few weeks before noticeable improvements manifest. Around the injection sites there may be some bruising, pain, or swelling. After the first round of injections, a follow-up appointment should be planned.
