DOES SMARTLIPO INVOLVE LASER TECHNOLOGY?

SmartLipo is a type of liposuction, also known as lipolysis, that uses lasers and energy to melt away unwanted fat deposits. Many doctors prefer this laser and energy method, trademarked as 'SmartLipo,' because it requires only small incisions and no stitching afterwards. Furthermore, SmartLipo can significantly improve a person's shape or body contouring while also preventing fat from returning to those undesirable areas.

DO SMARTLIPO RESULTS LAST FOREVER?

Yes. Fat cells that have been removed from an area will not regenerate. This does not preclude your body from developing new fat cells if you do not maintain a healthy lifestyle after your procedure. With weight gain, the remaining fat cells in the area can swell, and new fat cells can form. So, in order to maintain your results, you should continue to follow a healthy diet and exercise routine.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THE SMARTLIPO PROCESS?

The procedure begins with a thorough cleaning of the treatment area. Following that, the physician will make one or more minor skin incisions. Through these incisions, a laser-tipped cannula will be inserted and moved around the treated area to deliver laser energy that causes the fat to rupture and melt away. If the procedure involves treating a relatively large area, a standard liposuction tool (suctioning tube) will be used to suck off large fat deposits at first. The remaining fat deposits will then be removed using the SmartLipo laser cannula.

IS GENERAL ANESTHESIA REQUIRED FOR SMARTLIPO?

No. SmartLipo treatments are administered under local anesthesia rather than general anesthesia. This means you won't have to be sedated for the procedure, lowering overall costs and downtime while increasing patient safety.
