WHAT IS KYBELLA FOR DOUBLE-CHIN REDUCTION?

KYBELLA® is an injectable medication used to treat moderate to severe submental fat beneath the chin, also known as "double chin." Since 2015, the FDA has approved Kybella, which is made of a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid. When deoxycholic acid is injected into the submental region, it disrupts the cell membrane of the localized fat cells, allowing them to be easily removed through your body's natural metabolic process.

WHAT CAN KYBELLA DO FOR MY DOUBLE CHIN?

Synthetic deoxycholic acid is the active component of KYBELLA®, as was previously mentioned. It is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When deoxycholic acid is injected into your double chin, it begins to destroy fat cells until your chin no longer stores or accumulates fat. The end result is a noticeable reduction in chin fullness, revealing a more contoured facial profile.

HOW IS THE RECOVERY AFTER KYBELLA INJECTIONS?

The injections are well tolerated by the majority of patients, and there is very little downtime associated with Kybella procedures.
