WILL THE LOCATION OF THE TATTOO AFFECT REMOVAL?
The location of the tattoo on your body, as well as the amount of ink contained within it, have an impact on the laser removal treatment. Generally speaking, it will take longer to remove a tattoo the farther it is from your heart and the denser the ink. As an example, a tattoo on the ankle can require significantly more sessions to remove than a tattoo of the same size and color on the shoulder. Because blood flow is much better closer to the heart than in the ankle. And the less circulation there is to carry the ink away, the longer it takes to remove the tattoo.
HOW PAINFUL IS LASER TATTOO REMOVAL?
Unfortunately, laser tattoo removal does cause some discomfort. However, most patients report that it hurts far less than they anticipated. The pain is frequently described as a rubber band snapping against the skin. So expect it to be uncomfortable but bearable.

Following tattoo removal laser treatments, you can expect redness, swelling, blistering, and even scabbing. However, our laser technology, combined with proper aftercare, ensures that no scarring takes place.
WHEN AND HOW OFTEN DO I NEED SESSIONS? WHAT DOES IT COST?
The number of treatment sessions required is determined by several factors, including ink color, depth of ink, scar tissue surrounding the tattoo, and location on the body. Most patients required 8 to 12 sessions to remove a tattoo. However, we have seen satisfactory results in as few as four sessions. There is no way to know how many sessions will be required for your specific tattoo without first seeing how it responds to the laser treatment. Currently, our prices at StudioMD Queens are based on the size of the tattoo, with the first square-inch costing $129, plus $10 for each additional square-inch.
