WHAT IS THERMAGE?
Thermage is a well proven technology that uses radiofrequency energy to induce controlled heating in the deeper layers of your skin. The heat is intended to pressure collagen fibres to contract and give the patient a lifted appearance. It can also power up collagen fibres to regenerate themselves in order to strengthen, lift the skin and become tighter.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY TREATMENT?
At StudioMD, your Thermage session will start with a thorough cleanse of the face, while a temporary tattoo grid is placed on it, acting as a treatment 'map'. The machine’s device will follow the map’s guidelines and as it touches your skin, you’ll feel a brief cooling sensation, followed by a deep but brief heating sensation, followed by another cooling sensation and gentle vibration. All of these are the response of your deep tissue layers being reached and the collagen remodeling being effective. Everyone’s skin tightening goals and circumstances are different, so will the total duration of their session. But, as a reference, a full face Thermage treatment can take up to 90 minutes.
IS THERMAGE PAINFUL?
Since Thermage uses higher levels of energy than any other skin tightening treatments, it is known to cause some discomfort. The overall tingling and a slight burning sensations of the treatment are usually torerable to most patients. If you have low tolerance to pain, your experience can be alleviated with topical anesthetics. Take comfort in knowing that most clients find this treatment tolerable enough to return for maintenance sessions.

The production of new collagen expected with Thermage will take over 2-3 months and gradually reach maximum results about 6 months after treatment.
