Dr Sanja Kolarov is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician with more than 17 years of experience in hospital and outpatient settings. As a Medical Aesthetics Specialist Dr. Kolarov has focused on treatment with Smartlipo as well as laser skin treatments, such as Morpheus8, body contouring with Coolsculpting, face balancing with Botox and Juvederm, and antiaging solutions.

WHAT IS SMARTLIPO FAT REDUCTION?
Smartlipo is a minimally invasive, body contouring procedure that targets trouble spots like the abdomen, arms, buttocks, thighs, and neck. The treatment delivers focused energy underneath the skin, which permanently melts and eliminates fat tissues. An approach that is less invasive, has less bruising, swelling and pain than traditional surgical methods. With an innovative system, Smartlipo allows the plastic surgeon to perform laser liposuction on multiple and large problem areas per session with minimal downtime and no surgical scars.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?
The procedure is conducted in-office and only requires local anesthesia to specifically numb just the area of the body being treated. So you’ll be awake during the whole process.
After the anesthesia kicks in, a very thin tube containing the Smartlipo laser fiber is inserted in the fat area target, through a small incision. HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions will depend on the amount of fat to be removed from each area of your treatment plan. Most patients achieve their desired results with a single treatment. But keep in mind that despite how many sessions your treatment involves, you’ll need to be patient, as it takes up to 4 months to see the final results.
HOW IS THE AFTERCARE OF SMARTLIPO?
The best thing about Smartlipo is that there is minimal downtime and the patient can return to a normal lifestyle in one to two days after treatment.
There will certainly be follow up consultations to check on your recovery and results progression. But throughout the whole aftercare process, there will be no stitches or major restrictions, just a very small incision that tends to heal well and quickly.
