At StudioMD, we have nearly 10 years of experience with hair removal. We offer a variety of hair removal solutions, including laser hair removal and electrolysis, in order to most effectively and efficiently produce results for your skin and hair type. Our multi-technology approach is your best alternative for maximum hair reduction.

Electrolysis destroys hairs by gently delivering a minor electric current to the base of the hair follicle through a very fine needle. This is done through the natural opening of the hair follicle, destroying the hair growth-tissue and substantially eliminating the hair.

If you have blond, white, grey and peach fuzz hair, a combination of laser and electrolysis treatments may be the right solution for you. We offer free consultations to understand your needs and determine the right solution for you.

Prior to a consultation, StudioMD representatives will ask you to fill out certain forms to ensure that you do not have any medical conditions that would prohibit you from receiving laser treatment.

During the consultation, which may take 15 to 30 minutes depending on questions you may have, our aesthetician will describe the treatment process, what to expect during treatment, pre-treatment requirements and post-treatment procedures.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS ELECTROLYSIS BETTER THAN LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
All forms of permanent hair removal aim to destroy the follicles of unwanted hair so they can no longer produce new hair. But Electrolysis manages it with a single treatment and permanently destroys a larger portion of the hair follicles than any other hair removal technology. While Laser and IPL hair reduction treatments are only able to claim “hair reduction”, Electrolysis actually removes the hair right away and it is very effective at removing the hair that laser leaves behind. Additionally, Electrolysis can leave your skin soft and smooth. It will look as natural as if the hair had never been there to begin with.
CAN ELECTROLYSIS TREAT INGROWN HAIRS?
Definitely. Electrolysis is the best technique to counteract ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs are most often caused by pulling hairs, whether it be waxing, tweezing or threading, in a direction other than the natural direction of the growth. Since it is the only treatment that can reach to the base of the follicle and destroy it, Electrolysis can stop ingrown hairs from happening in the first place.
HOW DO I MANAGE MY UNWANTED HAIR BETWEEN TREATMENTS?
Even though there are options to keep unwanted hair “under control”, during your Electrolysis treatment you’ll need to grow the hair to at least 3 mm before each session. For a better management of hair in between appointments, you can bleach and trim it. You should always avoid plucking, waxing or any method that removes the hair below the surface of the skin unless you are having an extensive break between treatments.
CAN MEN HAVE ELECTROLYSIS?
Of course! Men are entitled to feel good and look like they please. Many male patients seek hair removal for getting rid of body hair, to reduce irritation from clothing, to keep their partner happy or even to improve sports performance.

The most sought-after treatment for men is removal of torso hair. Other popular treatment areas are the upper arms, around the ears, top of the nose, eyebrows, upper back, cheeks above the beard line and beard contouring. But you can also have Electrolysis in any area where ingrown hair has been bothering you and causing inflammation problems.
HOW MUCH DOES GALVANIC ELECTROLYSIS COST?
Total costs will depend on how much hair needs to be removed (density) combined with the size of the area being treated. At your initial complimentary consultation at StudioMD, we will provide you with a quote for both time and cost based on the length and frequency of the sessions in your treatment plan. In case you are worried about requiring an extensive treatment for your hair removal, keep in mind that our treatments cost proportionately less the longer they are.
