WHAT CAN PDO THREADS DO FOR ME?
A PDO thread lift treatment can help improve skin quality (smoothing and rejuvenating) as well as tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, and body (arms, abdomen and buttocks). Depending on our goals, we will use monos, cogs, or thread combinations. Mono threads are typically recommended for younger patients who are not yet sagging and want to maintain their skin quality. In older patients, we may also use mono threads to help tighten the skin in some areas or to prepare the skin for cog threads. Cog threads are generally suitable once there are signs of sagging skin, especially around the jowls, for patients from their 30s onwards.
HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT?
The length of your treatment is determined by the area involved. Pre-treatment preparations, such as cleaning the skin and applying numbing medication, usually take about 20 minutes. But the procedure can take anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the area to be treated.
WILL PDO THREAD LIFT CHANGE MY FACIAL FEATURES?
Unlike traditional surgical facelifts, which leave visible changes and well-hidden but still noticeable scars, the PDO thread lift leaves no scars and does not alter your unique facial features. Instead, PDO thread lift shifts soft tissues back to where they were before. The next 10–14 days mark the start of a natural protein synthesis process. Results will continue to improve over the next few weeks, peaking around six months and lasting up to two years as your body produces collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. As a result, this type of non-surgical facelift is a long-term treatment with long-lasting results. And the best thing about it is that you can usually expect to look the same as you did several years ago after a thread lift.
HOW LONG WILL THE PDO THREADS RESULTS LAST?
The good news is that, depending on your age and how your skin responds to treatment, PDO thread lifting can provide extended results. Some of our patients enjoy the benefits of their treatments for up to two years before needing to return for maintenance procedures. Because our PDO threads are fully absorbable, top-up treatments will be no problem after this time. PDO threads will not reverse the aging process, but they will enhance facial features, tighten and tone your skin, and reduce certain lines and wrinkles.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A THREAD LIFT TREATMENT?
Thread lift candidates are typically in their late thirties to late fifties and have mild to moderate signs of skin laxity. While most patients with excessive laxities will benefit more significantly from facelift surgery, thread lifts can provide a facelift alternative for patients who do not want or cannot have surgery due to medical reasons. Because thread lifts can be performed under local anesthesia, many people with age-related conditions that preclude surgery (such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease) can benefit from this treatment.
