After the age of 50 we lose 1% of our dermal collagen, elastins and hyaluronans per year. As a result we experience facial changes such as*:
Today we can replace the hollowing of the skin and the volume lost to aging with a number
of filler materials available. Dermal fillers (or wrinkle fillers) are also used to augment the size and
shape of the lips (lip augmentation).*
There are a number of dermal fillers available, each with specific uses and distinct advantages. These
include Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane, Radiesse, Sculptra and more.*
Dr. Khan performs an individual facial analysis for each patient and determines the type and amount of
filler needed for the most natural looking results. Dermal fillers and wrinkle fillers are priced per
syringe and prices vary among different fillers. Dr. Khan will discuss the type of dermal filler and
the number of syringes needed for each individual procedure during a consultation with the
patient.

FAQ
Restylane White Plains and Perlane White Plains
Restylane® and Perlane® are safe and natural cosmetic dermal fillers that restore volume and fullness to the
skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.*
Restylane and Perlane are made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human
body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA™ or Non-Animal Stabilized
Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic
or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and
over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to
bind to water is what helps provide the duration of results.
Perlane has larger gel particles and is intended to be injected deeper within the skin.
Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic acids and bovine collagen products, Restylane is free from animal
proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development of allergic reactions to
animal proteins.
After your treatment, you might have some redness or swelling. This will normally last less than seven days.
Sunbathing and cold outdoor activities should be avoided until any redness or swelling disappears.
Dr. Khan uses several different dermal fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse. He will suggest
which filler is best for your particular situation during your initial evaluation.
Recently approved by the FDA, Juvederm™ injectable gel is a “next-generation” dermal filler. The smooth
consistency gel helps to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds,
like your "smile lines" (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the
corners of your mouth).
Juvederm™ dermal filler is the only dermal filler currently available with the highest concentration of
hyaluronic acid and a special formulation process. This process creates a smooth gel that flows easily into
the skin, creating smooth, natural looks.*
All other currently approved hyaluronic acid dermal fillers use a gel particle suspension formulation. These
gel particles may be visibly seen as opposed to the smoother formulation used in Juvederm™. The smooth
consistency of Juvederm™ dermal filler also may help to minimize the discomfort that can sometimes occur
during the injection procedure. In addition, Juvederm™ injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic
acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.*
