FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO FAT CELLS REACT TO COOLSCULPTING?
CoolSculpting freezes and damages fat tissues, allowing dead fat cells to be gradually eliminated by the body's natural metabolic processes over a 12-week period. The number of fat cells in untreated areas will not change. In most cases, losing or gaining weight has no effect on the number of fat cells. It instead alters the size of fat cells. Fat cells grow in size as we gain weight. Fat cells shrink after dieting and weight loss, but the number of fat cells remains constant. With Coolsculpting, the targeted fat cells are irreparably damaged and eliminated in the process.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE INITIAL CONSULTATION FOR ARMS COOLSCULPTING?
During the initial consultation, we will examine your bra area and determine your eligibility for the treatment by assessing the amount of pinchable fat you have under your arms. Then we’ll go over the recommended treatments/number of applicators needed to achieve the desired results to transform your arms. Your treatment plan can also be customized based on your individual preferences. At StudioMD, we provide same-day treatment after your consultation, so you won't have to wait.
CAN I LOSE WEIGHT WITH BRA AND ARMS COOLSCULPTING?
It’s important to note that CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss alternative. It’s for non-surgical fat reduction for patients who are within 30 pounds of their ideal weight. Using the power of cold and the body’s own metabolism to flush out the fat, CoolSculpting helps sculpt certain areas in the body, and in this case, the bra area. So you’ll find that your tank top, bra, and favorite swimsuit will fit, look, and feel better on you! But you won’t lose any considerable weight with the procedure.
IS COOLSCULPTING SAFE TO USE UNDER THE ARMS?
It all depends on whether you're deemed a good candidate for CoolSculpting. And if your specific medical history, including previous surgeries and medications allow you to undergo the treatment. Although CoolSculpting is FDA approved for fat reduction in the bra, back, and upper arm, it does not necessarily mean that you should use it.
If you have a lipoma in your arm, we recommend that you avoid treating these areas. If you're more concerned with breast tissue than fat, we'd suggest a different treatment because CoolSculpting doesn't work on breast tissue. Every treatment has potential risks and side effects, especially in sensitive areas like the upper arm and armpit.
IS COOLSCULPTING FOR THE UNDERARMS EXPENSIVE?
The most accurate way to determine your individual pricing is to schedule a complimentary consultation with our team. CoolSculpting for underarm fat is charged by the cycle. However, costs vary depending on your anatomical build and how many areas you want to address in your treatment plan.
Regular Coolsculpting sessions at StudioMD cost around $900 per cycle. Package discounts and special promotions are currently available.
