FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS THERMAGE EFFECTIVE FOR WRINKLE TREATMENT?
Thermage is a non-invasive radiofrequency therapy that can help the look and feel of aging skin on many areas of your body. The treatment has proven to be highly effective in smoothing out wrinkles and other skin-laxity problems.
Thermage uses radiofrequency waves and typically requires minimal recovery time.
It’s a great solution if you want your skin to look sleeker, smoother with no surgery, no needles, no cutting, and no anesthesia.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED AND IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
The best advantage of Thermage is that usually only one treatment is required, and the downtime is minimal. Although bi-annual Thermage sessions may be required in particular situations, to ensure stronger skin health. And, as it goes with any treatment in StudioMD Long Island, you’ll have a customized Thermage Treatment Plan, regarding your health condition, complexion, and aesthetic goals, and your treatment frequency will be a reflection of this holistic approach.
DOES THERMAGE WORK FOR WRINKLED HANDS?
Absolutely. Thermage treatment can help with the weathered, wrinkled appearance that hands can take on. It increases the collagen, improving the look and feel of your hands’ skin. And the regeneration of collagen can continue weeks after the procedure has taken place.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THERMAGE?
The Thermage treatment tends to work best in people who are just on the verge of considering cosmetic facial surgery. Patients with very loose skin, sagging jowls, and a turkey gobbler may not see much improvement after Thermage and are better suited for surgical procedures, such as a facelift.
Unlike laser treatments, Thermage works well on people with all skin types and doesn’t cause any variable pigmentation in darker-skinned complexions.
WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS?
You'll notice a slight lift immediately after the procedure, but results are better seen within two to three months following your Thermage treatment. At this point, if required, you can repeat the procedure to gain additional improvement.
Your practitioner will advise you if additional treatments or smaller touch-up procedures are required to achieve the desired result.
