FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS PLENITY FOR WEIGHT LOSS?
Plenity is an FDA-approved, prescription-only weight-management medication. It is composed of naturally occurring building blocks such as cellulose and citric acid. Plenity, when taken 20 minutes before lunch and dinner with water, helps you feel full, eat less, and lose weight. If you forget to take Plenity before your meal, take it with 16 oz. of water during or immediately after your meal.
DOES MY INSURANCE COVERS PLENITY?
We encourage you to check with your insurance provider to see if Plenity is covered for your health condition. But even if you don't have an HSA (Health Savings Account), FSA (Flexible Spending Account), or MSA (Medical Savings Account), you’ll likely be able to use it to cover some of your Plenity out-of-pocket expenses.
IS PLENITY A SAFE WEIGHT LOSS TREATMENT?
In a clinical study, Plenity was shown to have a proven safety profile and to be as well tolerated as a placebo (a capsule with inactive ingredients). Results demonstrated that there was no difference in overall side effects between Plenity and the placebo. Although, it is important to note that fullness, bloating, flatulence, and/or abdominal pain were the most reported side effects.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO TAKE PLENITY?
Plenity should be taken 20 minutes before lunch and dinner in the form of three capsules with 16 ounces (2 glasses) of water. Particularly because it absorbs and mixes with the water it is taken with. With that, you will feel fuller throughout the day as you continue to use it. If you forget to take Plenity before your meal, take it with 16 oz. of water during or immediately after your meal.
WHO CAN TAKE PLENITY?
Plenity is currently approved for use in people with a body mass index (BMI) of 25 to 40. This includes those who are obese or overweight. This is unprecedented, as previous medications designed for weight management were only approved for people with BMIs greater than 30. Unless a pre-existing medical condition, such as heart disease, existed.
