What Is a Classic Facial?

A classic facial is a professional skin care treatment that combines targeted cleansing, exfoliation, masking, and hydration to address a specific skin concern or simply restore the skin's natural radiance. Unlike a basic spa facial, a classic facial performed in a professional setting uses quality products with active ingredients and deliberate protocols designed to produce a measurable improvement in how the skin looks and feels. Results are immediate: smoother texture, improved clarity, and a genuine difference you can see. Classic facials can be customized to address dullness, congestion, uneven tone, surface dryness, or the day-to-day accumulation of environmental stress on the skin. A pre-treatment skin evaluation ensures the right approach is used for your skin type on that specific day.

IS Fire & Ice Facial

$250 | 1 hour

What Is the IS Fire & Ice Facial?

The IS Clinical Fire and Ice Facial is a two-phase treatment that uses a combination of an active resurfacing masque and a calming, reparative masque to exfoliate, clarify, and restore the skin in a single session. Often called the red carpet facial, it is designed to deliver visible, immediate results with no downtime, making it an ideal choice before a special occasion, a photoshoot, or any time your skin needs to look and feel its best. The Fire phase actively resurfaces and renews. The Ice phase calms and deeply replenishes. Together, they leave the skin noticeably brighter, smoother, and more refined.

IS Fire & Ice Facial Protocol

Your provider begins by cleansing the skin twice with IS Clinical Cleansing Complex to prepare a fully clean surface. The Fire masque, an active resurfacing treatment, is then applied and left on for five minutes to loosen dead skin cells, smooth texture, and stimulate the skin's natural renewal process. It is then cleansed away, and the Cleansing Complex is applied again as a neutralizer, remaining on the skin for five minutes to calm any residual activity from the resurfacing phase.

The Ice masque, a deeply soothing second masque, is then applied for five minutes to hydrate, calm, and nourish the skin. Once removed, the treatment is completed with an application of Pro Heal Serum, Hydra Cool Serum, Moisturizing Complex, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect, hydrate, and enhance the post-treatment glow. There is no recovery period. You leave looking refreshed and radiant.

Benefits of the IS Fire & Ice Facial

The Fire and Ice Facial delivers immediate improvements in skin texture, brightness, and tone. Patients typically notice softer, more luminous skin right after their session, with a reduction in the appearance of surface-level dullness and fine lines. Because this facial is non-ablative and non-invasive, there is no redness, peeling, or downtime. You can walk out of your appointment and straight into your day or event looking like your best self.

IS Clinical Glass Skin Facial

$275 | 1 hour

What Is the IS Clinical Glass Skin Facial?

The IS Clinical Glass Skin Facial is a progressive, multi-layer treatment that combines physical exfoliation, deep cleansing, and active brightening peel technology to reveal smoother, more luminous, and more even-toned skin. Unlike a standard facial, this protocol works through several distinct phases, each building on the last, to address texture, congestion, and dullness with clinical precision. A key feature of the Glass Skin Facial is its overnight component: an active brightening peel remains on the skin after you leave the office and is cleansed away at home the following morning, allowing the active ingredients to work during your skin's natural overnight repair cycle.

IS Clinical Glass Skin Facial Protocol

Your provider begins by cleansing the skin twice with IS Clinical Cleansing Complex. The IS Clinical Tri Active Exfoliating Mask is then applied for two to five minutes to begin the exfoliation process, loosening dead skin cells and clarifying the surface. This is followed by the IS Clinical Clarifying Mud Mask, which is applied for one to three minutes to draw out impurities and further refine the appearance of pores.

Next, the first Extra Strength Active Peel Brightening Pad is applied and allowed to work for three minutes, followed by the application of a second pad to maximize the brightening and exfoliating effect. In-office treatment concludes with IS Clinical Recovery Balm Lotion and a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

At this stage, the brightening peel remains on the skin. Rather than being removed before you leave, it continues to work overnight. You cleanse it off at home the following morning, revealing skin that is noticeably more even, bright, and refined.

Benefits of the IS Clinical Glass Skin Facial

The Glass Skin Facial delivers both immediate and next-morning results. During and right after the session, patients notice cleaner, smoother, and more refined skin with reduced surface texture and pore appearance. The full brightening effect reveals itself the following morning, when the skin appears noticeably more even, luminous, and clear. In a single session, the protocol addresses congestion, uneven tone, dullness, and texture, giving the complexion a polished, healthy quality that looks natural, not treated.

FAQs Classic Facials

What is the difference between the Fire & Ice Facial and the Glass Skin Facial?

The Fire and Ice Facial is a two-phase resurfacing and calming treatment with no overnight component. Results are immediate and there is zero downtime, making it ideal before an event. The Glass Skin Facial is a multi-step brightening treatment with an overnight peel that remains on the skin until morning. Both are one-hour treatments and both deliver visible results. The right choice depends on your skin goals and whether you prefer immediate results or a progressive overnight brightening protocol.

Is there any downtime with either facial?

Neither facial involves significant downtime. The Fire and Ice Facial has none at all. The Glass Skin Facial may produce mild sensitivity the evening of the treatment while the overnight peel is on the skin, but most patients feel comfortable the following morning after cleansing it off.

Can I get a facial before a big event?

Yes. The IS Fire and Ice Facial is specifically designed for pre-event use. It is often called the red carpet facial because it delivers glowing, refined skin immediately with no redness or recovery. The Glass Skin Facial is better suited at least one to two days before an event, as the overnight component takes time to work and there may be mild sensitivity that evening.

How often should I schedule these facials?

Both facials can be done monthly or every four to six weeks as part of a regular maintenance routine. Your StudioMD Darien provider will recommend a frequency based on your skin type, concerns, and goals.

Are these facials suitable for sensitive skin?

The IS Fire and Ice Facial is generally well-tolerated by most skin types, including those with mild sensitivity. The Glass Skin Facial includes active peel components that may require adjustment for very reactive skin. Your provider will evaluate your skin before the session and confirm the appropriate approach.

What should I do to prepare for my facial?

Arrive with clean skin and avoid using retinoids, acids, or other active exfoliating products for 24 to 48 hours before your session. Your StudioMD provider will complete a skin assessment before beginning treatment and let you know if there are any specific preparation steps for your skin type.
