WHICH IS THE BEST TREATMENT FOR TIRED EYES?
If you are looking for immediate results, the best treatments for tired eyes usually involve dermal filler injections. Not only does it have the ability to add volume to the undereyes area, but they also bring hydratation to the skin tissue, which improves the appearance of the tear through shadowing that gives us that tired look. With dermal fillers you will be able to notice results on the same day of the application, but get additional gradual improvement for over two months.
IS UNDER-EYE FILLER PERMANENT?
Unfortunately dermal fillers are not permanent. Most products will last approximately 10 -15 months. On the bright side, the undereyes can be a challenging area to work on. So if you don’t like the results, it is reassuring to know that the filler applied can be adjusted or even removed completely. It is rarely necessary, but it’s nice to know it’s possible.
DOES IT HURT TO GET UNDER EYES FILLERS?
Since the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, the injections are completely painless. But the area will feel sore and more sensitive for a couple days, after the numbing effect wears off. The undereyes are more fragile than most other areas in the face, so most injectors incorporate anti-bruisings agents in the treatment. Before deciding if the procedure is the right choice for you, the evaluation of the patient will include assessing skin thickness, elasticity, hollowness, bags present, and placement of the orbital rim. In general, the best candidates for under eye filler are patients who have true hollows or depressions under the eye, but also relatively good skin quality and tightness in the area.
HOW IS THE AFTERCARE OF UNDER EYE TREATMENT WITH DERMAL FILLERS?
Most patients can usually return to their normal activities soon after the procedure and don’t require much aftercare. But there are a few general rules:

  • • Avoid sun exposure for the first 24 to 48 hours;
  • • Refrain from touching the area and facial massages in the first week;
  • • Exercising during the first 24 hours after filling is not advised, as it may injure the treated region or prevent the filler from settling properly;
  • • Ice packs can help with local swelling after the application;
  • • Sunscreen should be constant after treatment, to avoid post-inflammatory spots.
