WHAT ARE LIP FILLERS?
Lip fillers are injections used to help plump up your lip area, balance your smile or fill-in thin and uneven lips. There are a wide range of acid-based gel-like fillers that can be used for this end. Usually, lip fillers are the same “volumizers” dermal fillers used in other areas to increase volume, restore facial harmony and help fill in skin creases in the face.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A LIP FILLER INJECTION?
Lip enhancement can be the right procedure if you are someone who wants to restore fullness or add volume to your lips. It also helps if you want to achieve an aesthetic balance between your lip and the rest of the face. Or if you just want to get rid of fine lines around your lips.
HOW IS THE RECOVERY AFTER LIP FILLER?
Usually, there is minimal to no downtime after a Lip Enhancement. You can expect a bit of bruising, swelling, and numbness around the site of injection immediately after the procedure. But these symptoms will likely subside over a few days. Applying ice to the area can help reduce it faster. You should be able to notice some changes immediately after the procedure, although the final results will be better seen only after swelling and bruising have subsided.
WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD I TAKE AFTER TREATMENT?
As it goes with any injection procedure, it is always important to keep the area clean to prevent risk of infection. You should avoid heavy pressure on the area for up to 2 weeks to allow the gel product to settle properly. It is also best to refrain from any vigorous exercise and stay away from sun and heat exposure for at least 2 days after your lip enhancement treatment.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LIP FLIP AND LIP FILLER?
While a lip filler is a procedure designed to enhance and fill both lips, a lip flip is a very subtle treatment to enlarge the upper lip only. Lip filler also lasts longer, up to 12 months, while a lip flip only lasts up to 2-3 months.
HOW LONG DOES THE LIP AUGMENTATION PROCEDURE LAST?
The lip augmentation procedure can last from five to thirty minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.
HOW WILL MY LIPS FEEL AFTER LIP AUGMENTATION?
After the lip augmentation procedure, you may experience some pain and swelling. This usually lasts a few days and in rare cases, the swelling and redness can persist for up to two weeks.
