WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE TREATMENT?

There are 2 techniques involved with correcting under-eye bags with dermal fillers, depending on how severe are the tear troughs in the patient. The first one was designed to treat loss of cheek volume. With age, the fat pads in our cheeks start to drop and lose volume. Dermal fillers can help better define the cheekbones and fill in areas where volume has diminished. The second technique works better for patients that already have good cheek volume, but naturally show a depth of the line under the eyes. In these cases, dermal filler can be injected into the tear trough to lift the area and recreate the free-flowing transition from the eyes to the cheek.

ARE THE RESULTS PERMANENT?

The results of dermal fillers procedure are always temporary. At best, they will last between 10 -15 months. On the bright side, the undereyes can be a challenging area to work on. So if you don’t like the results, it is reassuring to know that the filler applied can be adjusted or even removed completely. It is rarely necessary, but it’s nice to know it’s possible.

IS IT PAINFUL TO GET UNDER-EYE FILLER INJECTIONS?
