WHAT IS SMARTLIPO?
SmartLipo is a form of liposuction - also called lipolysis - designed to use lasers and energy to melt away unwanted fat deposits. This laser and energy method, trademarked as ‘SmartLipo’, is preferred by many doctors since the procedure only needs small incisions with no stitching afterwards. Moreover, SmartLipo can significantly improve the shape or body contouring of a person as well as preventing fat from returning to those unwanted areas.
ARE SMARTLIPO RESULTS PERMANENT?
Yes. After fat cells have been removed from an area they will not regenerate. This, however, doesn’t mean that your body cannot develop new fat cells if you don’t keep to a healthy lifestyle after your procedure. The remaining fat cells in the area can become enlarged with weight gain, and brand-new fat cells can develop. So, in order to keep on the results, you should still maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine.
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH THE SMARTLIPO PROCEDURE?
The procedure begins with a comprehensive cleansing of the area to be treated. The doctor will then create one or more small incisions into the skin. A laser-tipped cannula will be inserted through these incisions and then moved around the treated area to deliver laser energy that causes the fat to rupture and melt away. If the undergoing procedure plans is to treat a relatively large area, a standard liposuction tool (suctioning tube) will be used at first to suck off large fat deposits. After that, the SmartLipo laser cannula to melt the rest of the fat deposits away.
DOES SMARTLIPO REQUIRE GENERAL ANESTHESIA?
Smartlipo treatments are performed using local anesthesia instead of general anesthesia. This means that you’ll not have to be put under for the procedure, drastically reducing the overall cost and downtime, at the same time that it increases patient safety.
