HOW DOES RADIO WAVE FOR MOLE REMOVAL WORK?
Radiowave removal procedures use a very fine loop of platinum wire to vaporize moles, warts and skin tags. Since the hair thin platinum loop is waved with radiofrequency, it can remove the pigments of the mole and coagulate the blood vessel attached to it at the same time. With that, there’s no bleeding involved with the radiowave procedures and only minimal scarring.
WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE AFTERWARDS?
Immediately after the procedure, the extracted mole will leave a small red mark where it was before. Your skin will be flat, pink and healthy-looking. The radiowave practitioner will cover up the treatment area with some ointment and a small dressing which can be removed the next morning. With time, this red mark will form a scab that will eventually fall off within five to ten days to leave a smooth red piece of new skin.
ARE THERE ANY RISKS?
Although there are no risks involved with the procedure, it is important to note that patients who have cardiac pacemakers cannot go under radiowave treatments because it can interfere with the pacemaker mechanism. It is a minimally invasive treatment, known to be very safe and fast. Radiowave removal also has no required downtime and you'll be able to resume your normal activities straight away.
HOW IS THE AFTERCARE?
The flat wound left at the site of treatment will scab over anywhere from 7 to 10 days following the procedure. Until it does, it’s important not to pick at it and let it fall naturally. To help the healing process you should wear sunscreen daily. And to prevent the treated area from drying out, we also recommend a healing serum be applied to the wound 2-3 times a day. It will help the skin to remain hydrated and prevent any scarring from forming. For the best cosmetic results, it is advisable that you keep the area covered with a band-aid for the duration of the healing process.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF RADIOWAVE REMOVAL?
Radiowave costs can vary depending on numerous factors such as how many moles/warts/skin tags require removal, their location, condition and their size.
