WHAT IS BOTOX®?
Botulinum Toxin Type A injections are a safe, well established, and FDA approved treatment used in many health fields, including cosmetic procedures. Being a modified protein that acts as a relaxant on muscles, Botox can be used to ease wrinkles in the frown, chin, forehead, and crow's feet area, among many other aesthetic possibilities.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR BOTOX?
Although there are no age requirements for Botox, we only recommend it for those under the age of 18 in the event of very specific health conditions, such as Hyperhidrosis. Patients under the age of 18 will be required consent from a parent or guardian, as it is not generally advisable or encouraged by most doctors.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET BOTOX INJECTIONS?
The entire procedure will only take less than one hour and you won’t need any anesthesia for it. You can have the Botox injections done over your lunch break and resume your daily routine as soon as you leave the clinic. Most patients are able to notice results within three to five days after the treatment.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS FROM MY BOTOX TREATMENT?
Although individual results may vary significantly from patient to patient, most people notice visible improvement within 3-5 days, especially in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows. But results will continue to improve for up to 30 days, generally lasting between 4-6 months.
HOW MUCH DOES A BOTOX TREATMENT COST?
Botox injections are administered in units and each treatment area requires a specific amount of Botox units. So the total amount of units required for your treatment will be determined by the number of areas you would like to treat and the number of units required to smooth your wrinkles, depending on their severity.
